How Does the Puppy Feeding Calculator Work?
The Puppy Feeding Calculator uses a formula that factors in your puppy's weight, age, and activity level to estimate the appropriate daily food intake. Younger puppies need more food relative to their size, and the calculator adjusts the amount accordingly. The food amount is also increased for more active puppies.
Puppy Feeding Formula
The basic formula for calculating daily food intake is as follows:
- Low activity level: Weight (kg) x 40
- Moderate activity level: Weight (kg) x 50
- High activity level: Weight (kg) x 60
For puppies younger than 12 weeks, the result is increased by 20%, and for puppies between 12 and 24 weeks, it is increased by 10%.
